My Bio
Zulfiia Tursunova is a US-Ukrainian pianist, composer, conductor, and educator. She received BA in Psychology and Music at New College of Florida and finishing MM in Music Composition and Instrumental Conducting at USF School of Music, Florida. Former Sarasota Steinway Society Award recipient, Tursunova believes in an integrative approach in music. Academic background in piano performance, psychology, and music pedagogy inspired her to develop a unique psycho-physiological feedback-based teaching method. As an educator and founder of Sarasota International Music Institute, Tursunova focuses on helping her students establish efficient practicing routines, build a solid comprehensive technical and theoretical base, and develop a positive self-image in a public performance environment. Tursunova’s compositions have received international premieres performed by Ensemble Dal Niente, Contemporary Music Ensemble, Ashley Bathgate, recording with Giovanni Albini (album Contemporary Ukulele, Vinci Classics), and many others. Recent composition works include various collaborative projects with USF Contemporary Art Museum, USF Flute Studio, artist Grace Howl and choreographer Leymis Wilmott.
